*Update #1: Which Labs would you like for me to attend?*
*Update #2: Welcome Christian Standard Readers*
*Update #3: Your MyNameIsBrandon.com Catalyst Survival Guide*
*Update #4: Catalyst Reflections, part 1*
*Update #5: Catalyst Speaker Schedule*

I will be covering The Catalyst Conference for the Christian Standard LIVE October 7-9 from Atlanta, GA.

I will be blogging live through each of the 10 main sessions at Catalyst as well as the pre-conference Labs. This live blogging will provide for you a chance to experience with me, in real time, all the sights, sounds, thoughts, and conversations of Catalyst. You can follow along, comment, see links and pictures, and interact with me during the conference.

I will also be updating Twitter during the conference as well. If you are on Twitter and want to follow those updates, you can follow me here.

There will be so much more!

Catalyst is the largest and, arguably, the most influential gathering of young Christian leaders in the country. Over 12,000 will come together to worship, converse, and hear from speakers such as Andy Stanley, Rob Bell, Tony Dungy, Francis Chan, Matt Chandler, Louie Giglio, Dave Ramsey, and Charles Swindoll. Catalyst is “a leadership experience including powerful teaching, new voices, awe-inspiring worship, unmatched creativity, and missional stories of the Gospel being lived out.”

If you can’t make it to Catalyst this year, MyNameIsBrandon.com is the next best thing!

When you say live coverage for the Christian Standard what exactly does that mean, Brandon? I understand your blogging but not the connection with the CS.
I’ll see you there.

Tim,

Basically, it means that the Christian Standard and I have teamed up to bring live-blogging, Tweeting, and other types of coverage of the Catalyst conference to the readers of the Christian Standard.

I’ll risk being dumb: how does a print medium like CS incorporate life coverage into it’s weekly magazine?

It’s not a dumb question. I’m sure many who are familiar with the Standard might ask it.

The Christian Standard will not necessarily be incorporating the live coverage into it’s weekly print magazine. I will be writing, though, one or two “after the conference” articles about Catalyst and it’s importance, influence, and such that will be printed.

The Christian Standard is using its web presence (its website and e-newsletter, primarily) to connect with its readers to encourage them to participate in the live coverage.

Duh, my wife is a frequent contributor to the Christian Standard and Lookout and yet I had never looked at their website before. Makes perfect sense! For anyone wondering their website is http://www.christianstandard.com

As of right now, their website does not have any links up…but sometime in the next week (or so), there should be some links on the Standard’s website to this blog chatting up the conference.

Tim and Brandon,
It is good to see Tim Hudson flumoxed by something! He has led the charge for us old geezers with modern technology! I’m glad we finally found SOMETHING he didn’t know about!
Brandon, thanks for doing this for us. I have desired to attend Catalyst for several years, but being over 50 assumed it was for the younger guys. I DO purchase the DVD’s and LOVE it. Thanks for the help.
Steve

Hey Steve,

Thanks for popping over. This will be my first experience with Catalyst, and so I am very excited.

Since you have experienced Catalyst in the past, with DVDs and what not, and with your perspective as a “geezer” (I hesitate to repeat that!) I would love to hear your thoughts on the value of Catalyst and why you think folks should be paying attention!

Feel free to just post them as a comment here or email me!

To my good friend Steve North who rejoices in my infirmity of being flumoxed I say COME TO CATALYST YOU OLD GEEZER (who is much younger than this old geezer). I know someone who has a ticket for sale.
BTW, pretty impressive website for your church for someone of your advanced years.

Just got back to my desk and read the Chuck Swindoll transcript. 2 thoughts:
1) I really hope that becomes available on youtube
2) I accidentally clicked 1 Corinthians instead of 2 Corinthians to read the scripture reference…try it.

Thanks again for doing this!
