Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the first round of the Cox Classic here in Omaha. The Cox Classic is a part of the PGA Nationwide Tour. It’s a huge deal for Omaha and very good for the city. The tournament actually takes place about 10 blocks from my house.
A friend from the church scored us some day passes and he knew a guy who hosted a tent on the 18th green. In this tent, it was all the free food and drink you could consume.
It was pretty fantastic. These guys can really scorch the ball out of the tee box.
I have attended a lot of professional and college sporting events, and the culture of these events fascinate me. Earlier in the year, Keri and I attended the College World Series. And our first Creighton basketball game. This was a fun addition to the list.
If you ever get the chance to watch a professional golf tournament, seize it. It’s quite the experience.
Next up for me, a NASCAR race. Then I will be complete.
