Favorite Lyrics: Bebo Norman, part 1

I have several artists, Christian musicians, whose music does something to my soul. I hear the music, and it is inspiring. And the words often bring me to tears.

I would like to share some of my favorite lyrics from some of my favorite songs by some of my favorite artists over the next few days. I will try to narrow the lyrics I choose down to my very favorite (which is very hard, as I enjoy ALL of these artists songs.) Indulge me, you might find something you like.

Today’s featured artist: Bebo Norman.

I discovered Bebo one day at a Christian bookstore when I listened to his CD at one of those listening station things. I was enamored by the sound and bought the album right away. The album was Ten Thousand Days. So…I will share some lyrics from that album now and his others later.

Album: Ten Thousand Days

Song: Where the Angels Sleep

Lyrics:

“It’s taken ten thousand days to get stuck in my ways

It offers no grace, I cannot stand this place

With love in my face, I walk away slowly

I don’t know where the angels sleep.”

Today, I am officially 10,586 days old. This verse is true for me in that it has taken me nearly all of those days to get where I am today. Some things are good in my life…some not so good (hence, the “stuck in my ways.”). And there are weeks when I want to leave all these days behind and go to the next place; the place of grace. But, as the Bible says, “love remains” (as well as faith and hope) and we walk through another day in that love.

  1. guess I should have been checking for your updates more! 🙂

Thanks for the e-mail…. glad I came and checked! Yes….still a huge Bebo fan. He has been gifted with words….. This is one of those cds that I can listen to anytime….happy or down…and it always brings me back to a place of inner peace. My favorite line from the album (or one of them…) “But the truth of the matter is still the same, you and I will not be here forever.” …. *sigh*…. amen. 🙂

  2. Yeah. Do you have Bebo’s new album? It’s fantastic. I’ll post my favorite lyrics here for that in a bit.

It’s good to have Bebo-buddies in the country.
