i have other things to blog about. in fact, my blogging to-do list is quite long. things have been insane and i simply haven't gotten around to it.
meanwhile, i have been teaching through the gospel of john at the christian campus house. we have been looking at the stories of the disciples who "got it" when it came to following jesus. we've also been looking at those stories that highlight those who "don't get it" when it comes to following.
last night, we looked at jesus' very sobering words when he said, "if you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples" (john 8:31). i love this statement and hate it at the same time. i love what it means. i hate that my life doesn't match up.
i needed this message as much (if not more) than those who heard it last night. what does it mean to "abide" in jesus' words? give a listen.
